Imagine the scene. Delegates are presented with a pile of cardboard, plastic, tape and scissors. To them its a pile of rubbish. To M&MR its the equipment to build a 2 man boat for a race across the lake that all team members must participate in shortly. Cue frenetic activity, lots of initial disbelief but huge amounts of satisfaction when their construction not only floats, but supports the weight of team members and is competitive in the race. Radio Controlled Speedboat Relay
Each team must complete as many laps of the lake as they can, with drivers changing on the whistle, and at random, blindfold driving rounds. Strategy is required meaning the team must plan carefully when to bring their ship into “dock” to change batteries – too soon and they waste time, too late and the boat will need rescuing, ensuring big time penalties….
